Collection: Albertine

Albertine was born in a Swiss village in 1967. In 1990 she opened a screen-printing workshop and since then has exhibited drawings, screen prints, and more in Geneva and around the world. Her illustrations have been featured in a wide variety of newspapers, including Le Nouveau Quotidien, Femina, and Le Temps. She married and began her long artistic relationship with Germano Zullo in 1996. Their collaborations have received the Golden Apple of Bratislava (1999), a New York Times Best Illustrated Book (2012), and a Bologna Ragazzi Award for Fiction (2016), among other awards. She has taught screen-printing and illustration at the École supérieure des beaux-arts and the Haute École d'art et de design in Geneva. As the Swiss section of the International Board on Books for Young People said regarding her work: "She gives every image different layers, which, in turn, offer the reader several levels of interpretation. She may be first an illustrator; she is also a full-fledged author."
