Collection: Iginio Ugo Tarchetti

Italian writer and poet Iginio Ugo Tarchetti (1839–1869) was influenced by the German Romantics, French symbolists, and foreign gothic fiction. His novels and poems explore ideas of death, illness (both physical and psychological), deformities, pathologies, and the bizarre. Tarchetti died after contracting tuberculosis at the age of 29.
